Captain of the Crumb Patrol

Sister Alice served wherever she was needed. One Sunday morning, she noticed that a child had dropped crackers across the church hallway.

People were beginning to arrive, so Alice found a broom and started sweeping.

A little boy watched her for a moment and asked, “Are you the church cleaner?”

Alice smiled and said, “Today I am captain of the crumb patrol!”

The boy laughed and helped her pick up the last few crackers. Within minutes, the hallway was clean and safe.

No one announced Alice’s name from the platform. Most people never knew she had done anything. They simply walked through a clean hallway on their way to worship.

The Bible says:

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” Luke 16:10 KJV

The Ministry of Helps is built on people who see a need and respond. They do not wait for a title, a meeting, or a special invitation. They understand that every job matters when it helps the church fulfill its purpose.

Sweeping crackers may not seem important, but it prevented someone from slipping. It also helped keep the church clean and welcoming.

God does not measure service by the size of the job. He looks at the faithfulness of the heart.

Alice held a broom, not a microphone, but she was still serving God and strengthening her church.
